Hi

Are all Farm Freighters the same speed?

I have a 9 pack freighter with farm seat and with eco-fuel and axle grease it's speed is 8.5 (or 8.9 forgotten which).

However, even with both boths, it is often overtaken by most other freighters ie is significantly slower. Why is this? It's not lag or ping - if I line up against other freighters with the same set-up they soon disappear as they are faster.

There's a Merchant's Costume: Trade that came a couple of times in cash shop boxes that gives eco a 20% extra boost (so Eco-Friendly Fuel goes from 50% more speed to 70% more speed).
 
You're missing the trading costume. One of its properties involves boosting a Freighters speed by 70% whenever eco-fuel is used. Without costume, the boost is only 50%.

No costume, 5 m/s base speed + 50% fuel + 25% grease = 8.75 m/s
With costume, 5 m/s base speed + 70% fuel + 25% grease = 9.75 m/s

Like above stated, its named "Merchant's Costume: Trade".
