Mercenary guilds?

When I played on live at launch, ages and ages ago on a server I've forgotten the name of, a bunch of merc guilds popped up to help protect merchant ships from pirates and escort traders through warzones. This led to some pretty fun stuff, and they were usually paid about 15% or so of the total haul divided between the crew as compensation iirc.
I was wondering if anything like that exists on this server! With so many new players who don't have access to high end stuff and the ability to defend from player attacks, and such an active pvp focused playerbase, it would be neat if we could have the option of offering a trade pack as payment maybe in exchange for safe passage to our destinations, while we get started and build up our own gold stocks.

I was the leader from a guild who kill constantly and dont leave the specific player play the game, for a big value for sure. I think the <Laughing Coffin> can be created here again.
