I would also very much like to know why you took the time to open up a thread like this
@Sparkle, when everything we said was shoved under the carpet.
You left us sitting in the dark the moment you finished writing the first post. Up until it released, we never got to have a conversation with you in this thread at all, you disappeared leaving us uninformed of what you are going to do with the player input we gave you. All we knew was weeks later it was going to be in a box with the one exact thing just about everyone in this thread did not want to see the ravenspine wings have - instant immunity upon usage.
Your only reply basically showed your ignorancy towards the impact this ability has on PvP.
Immunity on this glider was changed from 5 seconds to 2 seconds only. You'll waste one of these 2 seconds only to take off. So you are left with 1 sec only. That is not something that give you a huge privilege in the battle.
If you believe that 2 seconds is too short of a duration to give you great benefit, then you clearly haven't been watching or experiencing PvP on your own server at all. 2 seconds in PvP are a lifetime duration in such a fast paced game like this. With those 2 seconds, you're given the opportunity to safely lift yourself up and with that, out of anything that is supposed to keep you in place (Boneyard, Imprison, Anthalon Pull..), the Teleport in addition to the Takeoff skill further gives you the ability to even "outrun" archers, who undoubtly are given the highest range for attacking targets. The only skill that you'll be able to use on someone that ravenspines away is Snipe, cast it too early you'll hit the immunity, cast it too late & it will cancel the Snipe as your target flew out of range. It is next to impossible to get someone off a Ravenspine flying back to his group or Nui, unless you predict his takeoff, play with low ping and perfectly time your ability. Classes with playstyles that benefit from being ON your enemy, such as Tanks & Melees are the only ones given a wonderful utility to combat Ravenspine and that is the Red Dragon Glider. But even that thing doesn't do anything when your target has a Nui or his entire raid in reach of those 2 seconds of immunity, following would be suicide. Ravenspine is simply a nobrainer that takes 0 skill to use, it's a panic button to press to give yourself a second life over others. It's a relentless way to get in, kill 5 people and get out without worries for so many of the geared players in this server. Yet despite all of this - both, the people who have it & those who don't, don't want this glider to be in the game in the state it is at right now. Does no one in the team see what is wrong with that ? Tons of people use this Glider not because they like it but because they feel like there is no point in using something else and they feel forced to equip it for blatantly obvious reasons.
My suggestion hoping anyone in the team actually reads this:
Remove or lower the instant immunity to 1s or below. This doesn't render the Ravenspine useless. You're still given the ability to get yourself out of an Anthalon Pull or a Viscous Implosion before getting Hellspeared, you'll still be able to hit it as a panic button if you see someone throw his Behind Enemy Lines hammer on you to avoid the snare, when you see someone charge a Concussive or Arc Lightning on you. Ravenspine would be so much more of a glider that you'd have to actually think about when to use it. It'd remain a great utility tool for many things, but it would no longer be a tool to get you anywhere safely without having to worry about death. 1 Second gives archers & mages the opportunity to hold the DPS on target until immunity wears off. Ravenspine shouldn't be used when youre 5% health, it should be used to avoid certain CC or used prematurely to have an enemy waste his skills.
