New zones of Auroria are added to the game: Whaleswell Straits, Whalesong Harbor, and Aegis Island.
New Zones map.jpg

Whalesong Harbor is connected to Golden Ruins via a western path, while Aegis Island lies across the new Whaleswell Straits ocean area.
Whalesong Harbor is an expansive stretch of Auroria that once served as a major fishing port for the continent. Now, all that’s left in the region are the broken and rotten planks of the old Harbor and the preserved carcasses and bones of the whales who washed up from the sea.
The Harbor is now home to the Crimson Watch, who have begun utilizing new technology to thwart the evil necromancer, Anthalon’s, plans. These new machines are able to pull in Anthalon’s malevolent shadow and contain it, turning the energy into power that can be used to defend the area from his attacks.
Whalesong Harbor.jpg
To the west of the harbor lies Aegis Island, famous for two things: the grand Tower of Ipnya, which hovers as a glowing beacon in the center of the island, and the Great Seal which the hero Inoch created to hold back the dreaded Akasch.
While Inoch’s efforts were noteworthy, his seal was created long after the Akasch were first imprisoned. The seal stands as yet another temporary ward to keep the Akasch away from this world. In reality, the entire Island was created by the ancient Ipnysh heroes to keep the Akasch imprisoned. If the island, the seals, or the tower are ever destroyed, the Akasch will be freed.
Aegis Island.jpg
If you have your eyes set on Erenor gear and the gorgeous wing illusion that your character receives for wearing a full set, then you’re going to need to become familiar with Whalesong Harbor and Aegis Island. Both areas host special Events that offer up the required Ipnish Blessing materials you’ll need to make your Erenor gear.

Once Aegis Island or Whalesong Harbor reach war through the conflict system, the Crimson Watch will prepare themselves for an onslaught from their enemies. While both events are battles against waves of enemies and bosses that must be completed as a group, each has a different twist.

In Whalesong Siege, players will be scattered across the map at different key points depending on their faction. Nuia, Haranya, Pirates, and Player Nations all have different containment tower that they will need to defend. Pick up quests from the Crimson Watch Camp in the south before heading to your point.
Your Containment Towers can be defended using your skills, or you can make use of the mechanical turrets powered by malevolent shadow surrounding your tower. Simply walk up and activate a turret to fire it against the hordes of enemies that will approach.
Complete your 3 daily quests for an extra quest completion that affords some Cursed Armor Scraps and Honor Points.

In the Aegis Island Seal Defense, all factions will have to endure one another’s presence as they move about the island to prevent Anthalon from destroying the seals. The quests will instruct you where to head to defend, and you’ll be able to retrieve them from the Crimson Watch Camp just north of the Torch of Ipnya.
As you fight, you’ll be able to interact with the spirits of the ancient Ipnysh heroes and call upon them to aid you in the battle. Keep an eye out for them, as they are ready to turn the tides in your favor!
Conquer the Final Sealbreaker to end the event and collect your rewards.

Erenor crafting
Instead of regrading like normal, Erenor gear requires you to sacrifice previously crafted gear in order to move up in enchantment grades. Each piece sacrificed gives a specific amount of experience to your item. Once the experience bar is full, it will level up to the next grade.
Higher grades unlock additional stats for your item, increasing its usefulness and efficiency.

Upgrading to Erenor
You’ll need a cloaked Ayanad item of at least Divine rank as the base of your Erenor item. You’ll also need the following:
  • A Regal level crafting station
  • 180k Proficiency in your trade
  • Archeum
  • An Ipnysh Blessing – Create these using items gained from Whalesong Harbor or Aegis Island. They can be made in Sunlight, Moonlight, and Starlight versions, and different items require different blessings. Forge them on Aegis Island.
  • Dyes or Archeum Ingots
  • Blazing tier crafting materials
  • Ancestral Level 1 is required to equip the item
Once your Erenor item exists, leveling it up requires you to offer it other items in tribute.
Once your Erenor item reaches a higher tier, you cannot use any item that’s a lower grade as a tribute. For example, if your Erenor item is Unique, you must offer an item that’s Unique grade or higher as tribute. Basic, Grand, Rare, Arcane, and Heroic won’t work.

Erenor Item Lunastone Effects
Erenor items can also be equipped with special lunastones that will assign the item an elemental affinity. Wearing multiple items with the same elemental affinity will trigger set bonuses that become progressively better with more of the same element equipped in your Erenor items.
  • Flame’s set offers Focus, Resilience, and Additional Critical Hit Damage
  • Gale’s set offers Focus, Resilience, and Move Speed
  • Earth’s set offers Toughness, Resilience, and Damage Taken Decrease
  • Wave’s set offers Toughness, Resilience, and Skill Damage
  • Life’s set offers Toughness, Resilience, and Critical Rate

Ancestral Skills
As of Erenor Eternal, 55 is no longer the end. Once you’ve hit level 55 and gotten your skillsets to 55 as well, you’ll be able to walk the path of your ancestors and begin to imbue your skills with the power of the elements. But, to attain this new rank, you’ll need Experience and Ancestral Warrior Medals.

Ancestral Skills are alternate versions of existing skills in your skill tree. By earning Ancestral Skill Points, you can choose to replace your normal skills with these alternate versions, allowing for new skill combinations, strategies, and fighting styles. Each character can get a maximum of 7 Ancestral Skill Points, allowing for up to seven alternate skills at once. These points can be re-assigned to select new skills at any time for a small fee, similar to normal skill points.

Once you’ve attained the right amount of experience and medals, you’ll receive a message that you can level up via the Ancestral tab located in your skills window.

Ancestral Level 1 – 3,777,158 experience & 8 Ancestral Warrior Medals
Ancestral Level 2 – 1,531,946 experience & 10 Ancestral Warrior Medals
Ancestral Level 3 – 1,531,946 experience & 10 Ancestral Warrior Medals
Ancestral Level 4 – 1,531,946 experience & 10 Ancestral Warrior Medals
Ancestral Level 5 – 1,914,932 experience & 12 Ancestral Warrior Medals
Ancestral Level 6 – 1,914,932 experience & 12 Ancestral Warrior Medals
Ancestral Level 7 – 1,914,932 experience & 12 Ancestral Warrior Medals

At Ancestral Levels 1, 4, and 7, a number of your basic skills from your chosen skillsets will become available for augmentation, and you’ll be able to infuse a single skill with one of 8 elements of ArcheAge – Lightning, Quake, Wave, Gale, Life, Mist, Stone, and Flame.

For the Ancestral skills shown below, only the differences have been listed. All other aspects of the alternate skill are the same as the original, unless otherwise noted.

Added a handful of new keywords and explanatory text to the skill tooltips in this update. You will notice them in many existing skills, as well as a few new Ancestral Skills.

Ongoing Skills: These are skills that must be actively maintained, but do not require channeling. The most well-known examples of Ongoing skills are probably the Songcraft Perform skills, but others exist: Float, Crippling Mire, and Alarm Call, to name a few.
Ongoing skills are unique in that they often allow the caster to move or use additional skills while maintaining them, but they will end early if interrupted by a disabling effect like trip, stun, or fear. This puts them in a different category than normal buffs or debuffs, which last for their entire duration regardless of what happens to the caster.

Stagger: While not a true debuff, Stagger briefly stops the target’s movement and cancels all Cast Time and Channeling skills. This effect can currently be inflicted using Wallop, Dahuta's Breath, Boneyard, or Concussive Arrow (both the regular and Ancestral versions)

Interrupt: Applies a 1sec debuff that cancels all Cast Time, Channeled, and Ongoing skills. This effect will not interrupt movement (like Stagger does), but it will cancel Ongoing skills, which Stagger cannot.
Interrupt often appears in skills with other disabling effects, like Leech or Stillness. But when using those skills, it is important to remember that each debuff applies separately. (Meaning even if someone is immune to Sleep, you can still use Leech to inflict Interrupt and cancel a skill mid-cast)

  • Player Nation Territory Statues receives the changes.
Why? Because it's very expensive (much more costly than for other factions) to build it but the buff it's giving is quite weak (factions get a chance to receive 2 types of buff, when nation gets only one, the weaker) and it's also very easy to destroy the PN Territory Statues.
Due to it the following changes related to Player Nation Territory Statues were made:
    • Changed the cost of Territory Statues building in Austera:
Now the construction of the Statue requires 200 Faction Statue Crafting Packs (instead of 100 Rising Star Stone Packs) that can be crafted on its territory.
But, "recharge" of the Statue requires 40 Rising Star Stone Packs (instead of 20 Rising Star Stone Packs).
    • Added stronger Blessing (buff) effects:
The basic effects are fair, and we did not change them, but only added enhanced analogues of these effects, that can be obtained in the same way as the enhanced effects in the regular fractions.

      Hora's Exeloch Protection

  • Changes related to Erenor Jewelry (Necklace/Earring/Ring) were reconsidered. Jewelry was considered not affecting the game balance on its original level. Due to it stats and effects 10% nerf for it as well as 30% reduction in Experience Requirements for leveling Erenor Jewelry up will not be applied.
Changes related to Erenor Weapon and Armor will remain and don't get any other changes.
  • Guild EXP requirements, as well as additional bonus system, receives a change from originally announced. Originally announced change will not be applied and due to it removed from the Patch notes.

System that is going to be implemented is the following:
Guild doesn't loose EXP (no guilds deranking) at all, but, if guild doesn't obtain required amount within 1 week (from Mon till Sun), guild is going to be removed from the Ranking list for the next week. If guild gains needed amount next week - it returns back to the Ranking list.
Guild needs to gain the following amount of EXP within a week if it wants to stay in the Ranking list next week:
    level 1 - 500 EXP
    level 2 - 1000 EXP
    level 3 - 1500 EXP
    level 4 - 2000 EXP
    level 5 - 2500 EXP
    level 6 - 3000 EXP
    level 7 - 3500 EXP
    level 8 - 4000 EXP

As daily EXP requirements and deranking system is removed from guild lvl 6, 7 and 8, extra bonuses (additional buff and Guild Bank) for these guilds levels are currently removed as well.
BUT, later we'll implement a system that will allow guild of any level to be able to obtain extra buff and access to the Guild Bank.
A few words about future changes, we'll start working on right after 3.5 release:
Access to additional guild bonuses will be limited to 1 week and improved buff as well as access to the Guild Bank (and its improved version) will be possible prolong each week by the guild. Guilds will need to pay with the certain amount of EXP and gold if they want to have access to that extra buff and Guild Bank or need to prolong it. All extra guilds bonuses will be optional and each guild will be able to decide what they want to spend their guild resources for.
Buff and Guild Bank will also have several levels, depending on the guild level.
Why do we get this kind of change?
    - That will help to remove inactive (dead, alt) guilds from the leading positions and give a chance to new active guilds.
    - In Ranking list players will be able to see only active guilds, that will help them to avoid attempting to contact already inactive or dead guild.
    - System will stimulate guilds to constantly earn EXP, that in future they will be able to exchange (optional) to stronger guild buff or Guild Bank.
Edit (3/9):
  • We are opening the doors to the central Mirage building many of you wanted to see from inside. What will be there? You'll find the new range of items removed from Mirage earlier or not available in Mirage before, which may still undergo some changes in future. Visit it to obtain gliders, mounts (example: Mirage Leomorph, Lilyut Horses), temporary costumes with different stats that will be useful for the beginner and not only, decor, Seawhip Speedboat Design, S200/B200 Designs, etc.

  • Added the possibility to upgrade Nova Speedster, Apex Drift and Redwood Roadster to B200 and S200.

Edit (3/15):
  • A little bonus for the music lovers! Seawhip Speedboat and Seaskimmer Speedboat are getting a music listening function.
Seawhip Speedboat was also moved from the marketplace to our new main trade point in Mirage Isle.
  • Lanterns light was changed in original 3.5. It no longer turns on and off depending on the time of the day. No more light at night. Sad dark times but it's a logical step towards general server work improvement.
There are approx 15.000 lanterns in the game. So, imagine the load on the server while they all are simultaneously turning on and off when the time comes. In addition, 2 more zones were added to the game and new lights will increase the load even more. Due to it the return of automatic switching of the lights in the game has become impossible.
BUT, we found a solution that will help us to avoid sad dark times - we changed all the lights in the game and removed the timer when they turn off. That means, if you turn on the lantern, you can enjoy its light day and night, until you decide to turn it off yourself or until the server restart.
Edit (3/23):
  • A little addition to our custom changes that can be interesting for current and potential castle lords as well as the player nation lord.
