New World Boss Charydis.png

A new world boss appears in the Whaleswell Strait.
Charybdis is an Ancestral 15 World Boss with nearly 17 million hp.
Charybdis appears on Thursday and Sunday at the following times: 09:30 PM server time (EST).

Most people think that Chaybdis is nothing more than a myth, passed down by generations to scare and entertain, yet hidden deep underwater, lies a great (and hungry) beast.
After the fall of Auroria, Dahuta struck by grief, assaulted the elven kingdom with her vicious cultists, but a brave elven warrior lead her army to successfully push back the onslaught. Though the elven warrior Termisia won against the Sea Goddess that day, Dahuta didn't wait long to punish her for crossing her plans.
Angered by Termisia's prowess in battle and the death of her cultists, the Sea Goddess cursed Termisia, turning her into the most terrible, hunger driven and hideous of creature; Charybdis. Caring for neither good nor evil, she would draw in all who came close and be the last thing they would see, hear and feel before they are forced into the Hereafter.
In a desperate attempt to stop this vile creature from taking any more innocent lives, Termisia's loyal army decided to pay the ultimate price and sacrifice themselves, in an attempt to seal the monster away.
Together, her soldiers sought an Ipnyish relic that would banish the beast and brought it to Charybdis. When its mouth opened to swallow them all, they bravely jumped and forced the seal deep into its stomach, pushing Charybdis into a distant world, later rumored to be called Bloodsalt Bay.
There Charybdis remained for centuries, until during a recent expedition to the Whaleswell Straits, a crew of sailors heard a mysterious voice ring through their heads:
"The seal has been broken"
With the help of Cetus, Charybdis uses a large variety of skills to destroy ships around her, devour the people controlling the ships and ensure she stays away from harm.

Factions & Heroes.png

Faction
  • If two factions are allied, points will be granted to both factions, in case of a successful raid, boss kill, etc. Example: The Pirates and the Nuia Alliance have created an alliance to kill the Kraken. When they successfully kill it while their alliance is active, the points for killing this world boss will be credited to both the Pirates and the Nuian Alliance in the Faction Activity
The Dominant and the Weak
Everybody wants to dominate the world! This is your chance to show your power. Find out more below.
  • The status is decided by the cumulative faction Activity Points at the end of each week.
  • The activity points are collected from 00:00:00 UTC on Sunday to 23:59:59 UTC on Saturday. The result is then updated at 00:00:00 UTC on Sundays.
  • The Alliance Availability is not based on the Ranking, but it is based on the activity points in comparison with the three factions.
  • Regardless of the Activity Ranking, the faction with the highest points becomes the Dominant, and the faction with the lowest points becomes the Weak one for that one week.
  • Being a Dominant or Weak faction does not affect, which factions you can ally with.
  • When the top 2 factions' activity points are tied or very close, both can become Dominant factions. This works the same way when the bottom 2 factions' activity points are tied or very close, both can be Weak factions.
  • Should the scores of all three factions be tied or very close, it is also possible that there are neither Dominant nor Weak factions for a week.
  • Added the buff ‘Don’t Give Up’ for the Weak Faction
    • Increases XP gain by +20%
    • Increases Loot Drop Rate +20%
    • Increases Honor Points gain from wars and quests +10%
    • Increases Honor earned from hunting +50%
    • Increases Improved Guild Buffs +1 hour
  • Adjusted the Faction Activity Rank System
    • Expanded the range of Rank 3 (Moderate), and increased the minimum Activity Points to reach Rank 4 and Rank 5.
  • Increased the Activity Points gained when receiving the Exiles and Returners who returned to original faction as per the Return Request.
  • Added a condition that prevents factions from being allied.
  • When two factions are allied and they successfully kill an NPC (such as World Boss), the kill is credited for both factions.

Faction Competition

A new Faction Competition in Cinderstone and Ynystere has arrived! You are on a mission given by Crimson Watch to purify the zone. You will compete in a faction against other factions to earn points. Check out below what this mission entails and how you and your faction can be the winners.

For 30 minutes, all three factions will be participating in an exciting competition to fight for the 1st place and claim the best rewards!
Additionally Cinderstone and Ynystere timers have been adjusted: War - 30m, Peace - 60m. Requirements for the zones to progress through conflict states also increased

How does the competition work?
Faction members must summon as many Lodestones as possible while also destroying the Lodestones of hostile factions. There are 3 phases which last 10 minutes each. 15 Lodestones are available during the 1st phase, 10 during the 2nd phase and 5 during the 3rd phase. If summoning a Lodestone fails in a location, that Lodestone is then excluded for the rest of the competition. Summoning and destroying Lodestones grants competition points.
Once a Lodestone is destroyed, it gains a short immunity. Participating grants points which will allow you to earn a reward at the end. Earning 3000 points causes a faction to win the competition. If no faction reaches 3000 points before the time is up, the competition ends without a winner but still awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place rewards, according to the amount of points earned. After the competition ends, all scores are reset to 0.

Quests
Both Ynystere and Cinderstone Moor have the same quest objectives. However, Cinderstone Moor’s quest begins in Seachild Wharf with NPC Hermi and Ynystere begins in Glitterstone with NPC Onne. Two quests are available: one is to confirm the competition participation, and another is about the Lodestone. (Repeatable quests)

The objective for the quests are as follows:
Goal One: Join the Faction Competition.
This quest grants 1st, 2nd and 3rd place rewards. If a faction scores 0 points, there will not a reward.
  • Rewards:
  • 1st place: 24 Improved Infusion Supply Kits
  • 2nd place: 20 Improved Infusion Supply Kits
  • 3rd Place: 16 Improved Infusion Supply Kits
  • The ranking is decided based on the score at the end of the competition. In the event of a draw, the lowest reward will be granted.
  • Goal Two: Complete the Quest Purify Cinderstone Moor/Ynystere
    • Auto accept the secondary quests when accepting the main quest
    • After that, summon and/or destroy lodestones.
    • Members of the faction that receive 3000 points during the competition can talk to the Blue Salt Brotherhood NPC to receive 2 Blue Salt Bonds and 10 Gilda Stars
      • Victory reward only obtainable once per day
    • Cannot re-accept the quests again for 10 minutes.
    • Reduced the points gained from summon a Purified Archeum Lodestone to 5 points

Victory Benefits
  • The faction that scores 3000 points first, wins the competition, in which case the Neutral Guards in the area will be swapped for Guards of their faction
  • Access to the Trade Outlet will be restricted to the winning faction.
  • Which faction is currently controlling the zone, is displayed on the map.

Pirates
Pirates can now accept Blue Salt Bond Quests from the Pirate Faction Support Board
Pirate heroes can activate the pirate faction buff, the Hour of Raiders
  • The Hour of Raiders is the Strength of the Faction buff for pirates, granting the following effects:
    • Breathing freely while underwater
    • Turbulence effect reduction
    • PvE Defense/Skill Damage Boost
Pirates will have 3 heroes, starting from the next hero election

Heroes
Updated the Faction Support’s objective in the Hero Missions
  • Granted points for “Activate the Strength of the Faction” were changed from 5 to 3.
  • Added Cinderstone Moor/Ynystere Competition
    • Complete Cinderstone Moor Competition/Ynystere Competition
  • Lead a raid and take a victory in the faction war or activate the Strength of the Faction/Hour of Raiders.
    • Use the Token after participating in the Golden Plains Battle
    • Activate the Strength of the Faction or Hour of Raiders
    • Cinderstone Moor Competition
    • Ynystere Competition
  • Updated the list of Eternal Greater Bosses
    • Black Dragon
    • Charybdis
    • Leviathan
  • Updated list of Eternal Lesser Bosses
    • Kraken
    • Furious Thunderwing
  • Updated the objective of the quest: World Bosses
When a character who is qualified for the hero candidate disappears from the faction (ex. exiles) before the hero candidate announcement, this character will automatically be removed from the candidate list and the next character in the Leadership Rankings will be added to the hero candidates.

Stillwater Gulf has been updated.
Players spawn on an island and venture out to sea to find a way to survive. All players are hostile to each other in this instance and must survive and eliminate others in order to win. Players will need to destroy other player's clippers while escaping from the Grudge's Veil.

Stillwater Gulf has a 60 minute play time with the Grudge's Veil making it increasingly challenging as the game progresses. Stillwater Gulf starts after a 60 second Standby phase, which is when the protective bubble around the starting island disappears, and players can begin gliding out.
The instance has four unique areas with supplies scattered across the map to enhance your clipper. During the game players can view their rank, progress, and status of the Grudge's Veil.
