Is the server down? I don't see other messages about this. I was on an alt on my only acct trying to level it by fishing and I got dc/d. The first time it said something about duplicate logins, but now it just says I can't login and to check for recent alerts. I see nothing on the forums.

That's way too simple and obvious.Guys.. Just check your account panel, there is a server status right at the top.

You can check server status by looking at the top right corner of this webpage
Hopefully the changes related to festival and few improvements to the client are implemented durring this downtime.
It might have occured now becouse dev team has been notified last night about what needs to be done, and started implementing it, even though admins are not online yet so we will see soon enough.
