In-Game Event Ideas

In-Game Events are fun. They get the community talking and act as an incentive to log in. They can break up the monotony of your daily grind and can lead to more interaction among players. The best events are active events that involve the player performing some sort of action, and give a reward that player feels is valuable.

Right now, there is a lack of Lucky Sunpoints in the economy. One way to help relieve this, and bring excitement to players, is from some in-game events. Here are some ideas I had. These events all involve activities that most players can perform, and reward Loyalty Tokens.

The Loyalty Token prize is ideal because players can either choose to save their tokens towards purchasing a Lucky Sunpoint, or if they aren't interested in regrading save them for another high cost loyalty item. These events are based on the existing Fisher's Day Event mechanic. I'm not sure what other mechanics can be rewarded, but other activities could be appropriate if it's possible to code-in a reward for an action.

Here are my suggestions for in-game events:

Festival of the Lumberjack:

Craft a Lumber pack (100 lumber, Sawmill Station) and sell it to a Shadow Merchant. Reaching certain thresholds gives you rewards.
Shadow Merchants are Trader NPCS located near the Gold Trader in Cinderstone, Ynsytere, & Freeditch.

Turn in rewards:
1st level (5 Lumber Packs)
5x Loyalty Token

2nd level (10 Lumber Packs)
10x Loyalty Token

3rd level (15 Lumber Packs)
15x Loyalty Token

PROs: Helps remove excess Lumber from economy, Pirates can participate, utilizes Shadow Merchant NPCs which don't have much use

- Could also be Festival of the Shepherd and utilize Fabric Packs

Festival of the Pomegranate:

Turn in "Two Crowns Pomme Cakes" or "Silent Forest Pomme Candy" specialty packs to any Gold Trader NPC. Reaching certain thresholds gives you rewards. Total Loyalty reward is lower as the player still earns gold from their trade-pack turn in.

Turn in rewards:
1st level (6 Trade Packs)
6x Loyalty Token

2nd level (12 Trade Packs)
9x Loyalty Token

3rd level (18 Trade Packs)
12x Loyalty Token

PROs: Farmer players can participate without leaving Safe zone, Creates demand for existing items in economy
CONs: Pomegranates take a long time to grow, Pirates can only participate by selling if Freeditch Gold Trader is active

Could also utilize other tradepacks that use an ingredient both continents make such as:
- Goat Wool (Dewstone Fine Thread, Villanelle Potpourri - Festival of the Goat)
- Bananas (Hellswamp Spicy Meat, Mahadevi Elephant Cookies - Festival of the Banana)
-
Apples (Gwenoid Apple Pies, Falcorth Apple Tarts - Festival of the Apple)
-
Cherries (Marianople Sweeteners, Villanelle Preserved Cherries - Festival of the Cherry)
-
Grapes (Solzreed Dried Food, Tigerspine Grape Jam - Festival of the Grape)

Festival of the Midlands:

Turn in Tradepacks to the Middle Zones for a Reward. Any tradepack turned in to either the Dewstone Gold Trader (West) or Mahadevi Gold Trader (East) counts towards a reward. Loyalty reward is higher since the gold turn-in rate is lower.

Turn in rewards:
1st level (6 Trade Packs)
9x Loyalty Token

2nd level (12 Trade Packs)
12x Loyalty Token

3rd level (18 Trade Packs)
15x Loyalty Token

PROs: Incentive to sell in the middle zones which rarely see traffic, doesn't affect turn-in rate at more popular turn-in locations
CONs: Pirates can't participate
