Regrade or Retier?

Which should you do first, as I'm starting from scratch (T1 Obisidian)? I'm an Ebonsong if it matters at all.

One other question, please. When you uptiergear, does the grade change or stay the same?

For obsidian gear, the grade stays the same. That's why you regrade at tier 1: because then it is cheaper regrade cost as opposed to higher tiers.

To get ayanad, the grade will go down at every upgrade stage so you gotta regrade every stage anew.

Dawnsdrop grade stays the same as well, though it isn’t usually regraded by anyone. Mostly just upgraded to get the higher proficiency buffs.

.... obsidian has a chance to grade up when upgrading, small chance but still a chance.
