Undo the custom timer and changes to Leviathan

Add the original 2 hour Leviathan despawn timer back and get rid of the custom nerfs/changes to the boss, revert leviathan to how it is supposed to function.

Currently the boss is permanently up once it appears on Wednesdays and only despawns with server maintenance.

The rewards of the boss are heavily buffed in the next patch (6.5), it is the only source in the entire game of the Leviathan Soul Crystals (required for Elite Awakening Scrolls) and it also has chance (on a double loot rate server....) to drop entire pieces of world boss tier gear (Vigilant Hermit's Set). This is all in addition to the full enoan design it drops every kill guaranteed.

There is currently no reason whatsoever for anyone to pull this boss during a time where PvP is likely because it can be done at an off-peak time with little interference.

Bosses which give out comparable if not worse overall loot are on 2-3 hour despawn timers and are only available to kill during primetime hours of the server activity.

This boss is also notably easier to kill than black dragon or garden anthalon as it does very little damage, and is not gear dependent, but boat dependent, which are much cheaper to finance than entire characters, the boat of one player provides the necessary equipment for four other players. The boss can be done with very trivial gearscore on a majority of the participants, likely 7-8k, it makes no difference whether you have 8k gearscore or 16k gearscore players shooting cannons or driving ships.

There should be a controlled window of 2 hours (during primetime) where the boss stays spawned and is available to kill, just like the other bosses which have worse loot in this patch.

Leviathan will be impossible to deny under the current conditions if the opposing force has to watch it 24 hours a day, for a majority of days out of the week.

If no change is made, Leviathan will essentially be a naval thunderwing titan.

There may be aversion from some players because the boss is not currently killed very often under the current timer and rules, however the rewards have not been improved to give soul crystals as the items are not in the game yet, which is part of why the boss becomes very desirable to attack.

Also remove these custom nerfs from 4.0:

Foreign concept but how about you contest the bosses yeah ? Rather than trying to use admin intervention to make the bosses short enough for you to throw bodies at them without having to play properly for 30 mins or an hour and then packing up shop and going home.

The only 'admin intervention' is the custom nerfs and timers that are already in place.

If anything, those that oppose this proposition are in favor of admin intervention.

I am requesting for the 'admin intervention' to be removed because the custom changes were made in a very dated patch where the rewards and incentive structures of the game were extremely different.

I would like to request a detailed explanation (if you can provide it...) on how a boss that stays up for multiple days at a time encourages PvP and is able to be contested.

The best rewards in the game should only be obtainable through events which have a high probability of PvP, or at least high opportunity for PvP if people wanted to PvP over the content. If the custom changes to Leviathan are left in the game, the exact opposite will be happening.

I see no issue with the BD despawn timer or the ones which pertain to other bosses as long as they are not custom. As for the time the bosses spawn at, that is a whole separate discussion from despawn timers.

Keeping a world boss that doesn't despawn only encourages either side to do it at a time that fits them, this is not only unhealthy but also disincentivizes PVP over it. It should be on a fixed timer, maybe not like AAU where it spawns at the same time as Kraken/BD/Chary but make it after those bosses despawn so both sides show up?

Either way, having it up all the time isn't great for the health of gamers.
 
Id like to know who's killing Leviathan at the moment that this change is needed
The change was actually suggested for the 6.5 patch, not for the current state. However the verdict was that it would have to be in a separate thread.

Leviathan at the moment =/= 6.5 Leviathan, you can educate yourself on the differences in the patch notes and start to understand why it will need to be killed.
 
Before asking to change Leviathan or, even more, asking to make it harder to kill, start killing it first. Then we can discuss. Closed.
