Are hackers/botters perm banned?

It's very easy to change your IP (VPN) or Mac Address.
They'd need some HWID ban to help against people hacking on their own machine. People with virtual machines could probably go around a HWID ban

if blizzard with all their resources can't stop gold selling/botters/hackers, this private server isn't going to be able to either.

you can try to deter crime but it's never going to reach 0

Without disclosing what is going on for obvious reasons, we're a lot closer to what Gugu has written than anything else. Ultimately, with the tools at the disposal of people on the Internet, it is almost always possible to get around a ban, unless we start doing bans that will indirectly affect others who didn't commit crimes.

We're stepping up our efforts to catch them faster, however, and our new anti-cheat engine will be deployed shortly, among other things.
