While I agree that larceny as a proficiency needs changes, right now Jester Crates have a pretty good gold to labor ratio. Here's my results from farming perinoor ruins a few days ago:
All these prices were the avg price a few days ago. This was from a little bit under an hr of farming with the following loot buffs: Greedy Dwarven Elixir, Lucky Quicksilver Tonic, Greedy Goblin Gummies, Greedy Grimoire, the bear, and the turkey's loot drop buff.

Buffing larceny means more drops equals more supply, in the end value of items dropped from purse will drop. Your profit will remain more or less same.
Larceny items market is kinda in the dump right now due to recent events and cs packs.. give it a month, it should be back where it was.
