Maybe a ticket system so we can see where we are in the queue and have some transparency on how many reports/appeals are being dealt, and how fast etc.

Just a suggestion, voting not mandatory, but handy.
 
I would be fine with this if I ever encountered a problem in the future, but frankly I would rather them just add a staff member dedicated to dealing with & resolving tickets so someone is readily available for at least a few hours a day.

I agree with this I think the issue on this is they need more man power on more serious stuff like ban appeals / reports.
